“It is exaggerated” when exhibiting a checkpoint to reporters in Badiraguato, says the governor of Sinaloa, there are four detainees

The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya assures that he is “exaggerating” when exhibiting the checkpoint of armed men , installed in Badiraguato against reporters that covered the tour of the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the entity. There are four suspects in custody.

Rocha Moya also minimized what happened to the group of journalists, since he assured that it was a fact ” exaggerated” exposing the checkpoint in the media

Armed men checkpoint against reporters in Badiraguato

And it is that last Friday 11 May, a group of journalists was detained for at least men armed with AK-11, better known as “goat horns”, on a road section of the community Bacacoragua , in Badiraguato.

The armed men questioned the reporters where they were going, to which they replied that “at the president’s event” and after holding them for a period of five minutes , they let them go.

Checkpoints “are common” says Governor of Sinaloa

After the news was released, the governor minimized the facts, assuring that this guy of seals “are common”,

Even though later indicated that it is not “normalizing” the checkpoints of armed civilians , but that this has happened since a long time ago.

He also rejected that his government has a pact with drug trafficking and denied that organized crime dominates the state.

Four detained for holding journalists in the land of “El Chapo” Guzmán

Three days after what happened to the reporters, four people were detained, informed the authorities of the state of Sinaloa.

They are accused of their alleged participation in the armed men’s checkpoint set up in Badiraguato, land of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, against journalists.

The detainees are alleged members of organized crime, including a teenager, would have participated in the checkpoint installed on a highway section of the to the community of Bacacoragua, in Badiraguato, over the weekend.

Although the authorities have minimized the retention of journalists.

“We have no information about this checkpoint and I repeat, there is an investigation. Initially the authorities were not aware of the fact, I believe that we base ourselves or some statements are based on assumptions”, declared Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, Secretary of Security of Sinaloa.

“What we can say is what The arrest of these people is being carried out at the moment and we hope that as a result of this arrest there will be a line of investigation by the Attorney General of the Republic that will lead to clarifying this whole issue”, he specified.

The arrest of the suspects, from whom tactical equipment, three cars and a weapon was registered five kilometers from the place where the journalists were held last Friday.

Checkpoint near “La Tuna” , ranch of the mother of “El Chapo”

The checkpoint against journalists was installed at half an hour of he La Tuna ranch, where Consuelo Loera lives, mother of the former leader of the Sinaloa cartel, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador also downplayed what happened to the reporters and said that fortunately “nothing happened.”
