The first clothing store that works with an application and barcode opens in Los Angeles

The opening this week of the first clothing store that works through a phone application and barcodes in Los Angeles County, generated many expectations, but the new store did not fascinate everyone.

“The truth is I don’t know if it will last. Right now it’s new, but there are certain things that don’t need to be reinvented, and it can be a problem for someone who goes to the store and forgets their phone; or the battery runs out”, says Cuquita González, a young woman from Years since I visited the first clothing store of the Amazon corporation that works with a mobile application for the first time.

“Maybe it can work for the people who live it on the phone; and this type of store further encourages the culture of doing everything on the phone.”

Amazon opened its first clothing, accessories and shoe store for men and women that uses barcodes (qr). The customer has to download the Amazon application, and by scanning the barcode of the garment he likes, he checks if there is his size, colors and other product details. Then you can ask to be taken to a changing room to be measured.

According to a store employee Amazon Style, this can take 5 to minutes; and once in the fitting room, the customer can order from the application that other sizes be brought to him that best suit his needs.

The telephone application also allows customers to send products to be picked up at the counter, and eliminates the need to walk around the store with potential purchases.

Payment for purchases can also be made through the app.

The Amazon clothing store is located in the mall La Americana en Brand in the city of Glendale, in Los Angeles County.

Leaving the store, Evelyn Chacón confides that she prefers to shop online to drive to the Amazon clothing store.

“If one has Amazon Prime, you do not pay for shipping. So it’s not worth coming here”.

He says that the difference with other stores is that they only have one garment on display for each model, and if people want to measure it, they they send it to the fitting room, and when it arrives, everything is already there.

“It’s the same as in other stores. The difference is that you don’t have interaction with the employees, but I didn’t like it. For this I prefer to buy online from my home”.

Silvia Garza didn’t like the store “at all” either.

“It was difficult for me because I don’t know if I have the application, but I wouldn’t go back. I prefer a thousand times to go to a traditional store, where I can choose my size and be served”.

Considers that perhaps this kind of store can work among young people.

Odalys Chacón, a young woman in her twenties, who left with a bag from the Amazon store, says that she liked the concept because it is a different store and she would return shopping.

“It was easy for me to buy what I wanted”, he says.

But Suseli López, a mother of a family of some 40 years old, left disappointed and empty-handed of the first clothing store of the e-commerce giant.

“It doesn’t work for me. I don’t like it like this. Maybe if guys like my daughter from years”.

But Jocelyn Chilil, Suseli’s teenage daughter, didn’t love it; and says that he preferred to buy his clothes in a store where there is no need to use applications and barcodes.

Amazon has other physical stores, one of them was in Plaza La Americana, but it is currently closed. She also owns WholeFoods. But the clothing store, opened this week, is the first that basically works with an app and barcodes.

The store gives you also customers the opportunity to order online; and go try on your orders at the store at La Americana in Glendale.
