The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office detained a man who was near a supermarket and took him to a hospital for a gunshot wound after being searched for having shot his wife and mother of the woman. Hours later the defendant died from the injuries he caused.
Authorities received a call reporting a shooting near Autumn Brook Drive in Canton in Cherokee. The officers arrived at the home and found two women lying on the ground, both with gunshot wounds, as well as a 4-month-old baby and a 10 years that they were uninjured.
Christopher Thomas of 30 years was accused of the murder of his ex-wife and the attempted murder of his mother-in-law, but fled the scene. According to the police report, Thomas has a history of domestic violence, since a few months ago, when his wife was 8 months pregnant, he beat her and tried to strangle her.

After this unfortunate accident, Victoria, of Puerto Rican origin and the man’s wife, decided to divorce and go live with her son in her mother Myrna García’s house.
Christopher Thomas had enlisted in the army and had returned from a mission last December, WSB-TV reported. Myrna García’s neighbors were the ones who called 911, after hearing the gunshots .
Victoria Garcia of 30 years old died in hospital from injuries caused by the firearm and his mother Myrna de 68, is in critical condition. Apparently the grandmother was holding her 4-month-old grandson in her arms when her ex-son-in-law shot him, so had to check on the baby to rule out any health problem.
When the authorities arrived at the residence Christopher had disappeared, but was found outside a Walmart where they explained, had a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a hospital to be treated from a self-inflicted gunshot, Doctors pronounced him dead hours later.
