From the state of Tijuana, in Mexico, two legends of Latin American and world boxing coincided and also shared and paid respect: Julio César Chávez and Roberto ‘Mano de Piedra’ Durán.

In a brief video of almost 30 seconds, the ‘Great Mexican Champion’ is seen hugging the Panamanian

, whom he considers to be the best boxer that Latin America has had in its history.

Good day, family. I wish you a good and productive start to the week. It is always a pleasure for me to share with my compadre @jcchavez100 🇲🇽 and more when it comes to getting together for positive things for boxing. Thanks for all the attention. This meeting of authentic sports legends represents eye drops for the eyes of many fans in Latin America and the world who for years have participated in the debate of who was better between the two, Julio César Chávez or Manos de Piedra Durán; Culiacán-Sinaloa or Panama City.

Between these two lights add up to more than 230 fights professionals with 210 wins.

The Grand Champion, who faced in 2005 his last fight professionally (he has been in several exhibitions), he finished with a record of 107 wins (87 by knockout), six losses (Frankie Randall, Oscar De La Hoya x2, Willy Wise, Kostya Tszyu and Grover Wiley) and two draws.

For his father the pride of Panama , from which a movie starring Édgar Ramírez and Robert De Niro was even made, he strung out victoriously 87 lawsuits and (70 fast track) and 16 defeats.

Precisely because of the great unbeaten record he had during the bulk of JC Chávez’s career is that many analysts consider him better than Durán, with whom he never came to face; however, Manos de Piedra offered great fights that are remembered and considered boxing treasures.
