It seems that the members of the Cuban exile in Miami are not very happy with the actions of the Italian singer Laura Pausini, well they organized an act in which they passed a flattening machine over the artists’ records due to the photograph in which it can be seen with members of the Cuban State Security.
The act organized by a group called “Vigilia mambisa” and took place in front of a restaurant called “Versailles,”, which is very known in Little Havana in Miami.
The protest is due to the fact that in the image Pausini is seen “very happy” together with the members of State Security , which is in charge of giving “blows to the population” according to Miguel Saavedra, director of the group.
“Laura Pausini, Castroist, communist, friend of (Cuban President) Díaz-Canel”
was what the posters of the protest said, in which there were also banners against the president of the United States, Joe Biden.
This situation is also added to the fact that the Italian singer had to cancel her concert in the state of Florida, because she tested positive for COVID-19. On the other hand, the presentation of the Cuban Van Van orchestra in the city of Pembroke Pines, northwest of Miami, was also criticized. .
The controversy led the group Actions 4 Freedom to create a petition on Change.org asking the city to cancel the concert, to avoid the presence of this “communist” orchestra. However, municipal officials assured that canceling it would create legal problems with the organization that rented the venue .
“Los Van Van is a music band that has historically supported and collaborated with the Cuban dictatorship; his unconditional support for the Communist Party of Cuba has made his presence unwelcome in South Florida,” said those responsible for the online petition.
