Already Eddie Hearn, President of Matchroom Boxing, announced in recent days that was already in talks to seek the expected lawsuit

that would close a cycle between these two great boxers.

“It is probably the only opportunity. We have to make that fight”, declared the promoter in conversation with TalkSports.

The Canelo announced this Monday that a new clash against GGG will become a reality…. And then he will go for revenge against Bivol

In the absence of officiality, the date that is handled for Canelo vs. GGG III is the 17 of September. But we will have to go to the depth of that announcement.

‼️ Canelo Alvarez has now indicated that he will take the Gennady Golovkin trilogy fight next, then look to rematch Dmitry Bivol. Canelo would be moving back down to super-middleweight and defending his undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO world titles vs GGG on Sept 15th.

The Mexican boxer to his 15 years old, current unified super middleweight champion, has just undergone a demanding training routine to pass the 100 pounds (72.5 kg) at 168 pounds (76 kg) and face a Dmitry Bivol who is a resident of that category since his time in the amateur.

The result was unfortunate. Last Saturday, May 7, the one from Guadalajara was beaten on the ring of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The strategy devised by the Canelo Team commanded by Eddy Reynoso did not work and his boxer ended up losing by decision of the judges.

For the fight against Golovkin, Saúl Álvarez will have to lose weight, something that Reynoso himself warned that he has a lot of difficulty and even more to gain of category; then the question remains in the air to be answered by the analysts:

Is it convenient for Canelo Álvarez’s career to go up and down in category in such a short period of time?

“The important thing here is perseverance and we are going to do it again”, he declared Álvarez this Monday about seeing their faces against GGG and then attending a rematch against the Russian Bivol.

With this decision Saúl Álvarez ignores the advice of another veteran of this sport, ‘Dinamita’ Juan Manuel Márquez, who in conversation with David Faitelson at ESPN He said that the man from Guadalajara should stop making inventions and stay in the super middleweight category.

The contract announced at the beginning of the year proposed three fights this 2022 for Canelo to relive what was done in 2021 when he finished undefeated in three fights (Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant).
