'Canelo' Álvarez says he will “possibly” fight Golovkin in September

The Mexican boxer Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, undisputed super middleweight champion, said this Monday that “possibly” He will have a third fight in September against Kazakh Gennady Golovkin.
“The sure thing is that we will return in September because we already have the date. These days, today, tomorrow or the day after, we will announce the fight. Possibly yes (it will be with Golovkin). We already have that contract with Matchroom and DAZN, we must continue with what we started, “he explained prior to the start of his first golf tournament, “No golf no life”.
Despite the fact that Álvarez lost last May 7 against the Russian Dmitry Bivol in his quest to obtain another title in the light heavyweight division, the boxer intends face Golovkin in September.

About a possible fight in his native Jalisco, a state located west of Mexico, assured that it is something he “wants” , but first he must analyze the proposal sent to him by the governor of that state, Enrique Alfaro .
“The governor and I are good friends, obviously he came out there and talked to me. Arriving in Guadalajara (capital of Jalisco) I am going to sit down and talk. It is something that I want, I desire, but first things first “, he asserted.

‘Canelo’ also responded to the criticism made by the boxer retired and his former promoter Óscar de la Hoya, who stated that because of dedicating so much time to golf makes boxing unfocused.
“I think it’s better to love sports and not other things, don’t you think so?”
The boxer explained that “No golf no life” is an amateur contest in which businessmen, athletes and entertainment personalities will participate to raise funds that serve to promote young Mexican golf talents.
