Truck with migrants runs out of brakes and crashes in Mexico; there are four dead and a dozen wounded

A new tragic chapter was experienced for migrants in Mexico, where four migrants, mainly from Central America, died and others 16 were injured when the van in which they traveled overcrowded suffered an accident in the state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico.

The State Attorney General’s Office confirmed that the victims were originally from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Ecuador, while the injured have already been transferred to different hospitals, some with skull and leg fractures. legs.

The events took place on the road that connects San Juan Chamula-Ixtapa, at kilometer , early Sunday morning, at the height of the Yaalchitom community.

It is presumed that the accident was due to a mechanical failure, when going down the mountain the vehicle lost its brakes and collided with another parked truck.

Due to the impact, some of the migrants flew out of the unit and fell n on the pavement, which caused the death of some and left others badly injured.

The authorities estimated that in total there were about 30 persons. This route is identified by the authorities as a passage for human traffickers who transport migrants on a daily basis.

Of the injured, it was identified that 9 are from Honduras, 4 from Guatemala, 1 from Nicaragua, 1 from Ecuador and one person more who was admitted to the hospital as an unknown person.
