More than a dozen people were injured, two of them by gunshots, after the match in which Dinamo Zagreb won last night by 3 to 1 against Hajduk Split, thus proclaiming himself champion of Croatia, in clashes between hundreds of Hajduk fans and the police.

None of the injured is in serious condition, according to police authorities.

Two Hajduk fans were shot when police fired in self-defense and a dozen officers were injured during the riots, the source said.

The disorders occurred when part of the 1,600 Hajduk fans, traveling back to Split under escort by the police, blocked the road about 30 kilometers south of Zagreb and attacked the officers.

Dinamo beat Hajduk 3-1 last night in the last game of the season, and with seven points clear won the Croatian championship.
