The Ecuadorian Romario Ibarra scored a brace this Sunday to lead the goleada of the Pachuca 3-0 at Águilas del América, result with which the Tuzos advanced to the final of the Clausura tournament 2022 of Mexican soccer by winning the semifinal series 4-1.
In the second leg of the semifinals played at the Hidalgo stadium, home of Pachuca, Erick Sánchez was the other scorer for Pachuca, who tied last Thursday for 1-1 with América in the first leg.
Los Tuzos will face champion Atlas in the final, a series in which they will seek the seventh title in its history, the first since the Clausura 2016.
El Atlas got the pass to the final by beating Tigres UANL in the semifinals 5-4. The series for the title will be played between this Wednesday and this Sunday, the Eagles dominated the first five minutes of the match, but the Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari avoided the goals.
At minute 2, the Chilean Diego Valdés intercepted a pass from a Pachuca defender and with everything going for him, he finished off a couple of times to where Ustari was, who stopped the shots. The Paraguayan Richard Sánchez was the next to try to open the scoring for the Águilas when at 3 he made a volley with his right leg that Ustari sent to a corner kick.
After the arrivals, America disappeared and Pachuca grew and went ahead. Al 05, the Colombian Avilés Hurtado, from the band right, crossed a service that Romario Ibarra pushed for 1-0.
The Tuzos maintained an offensive stance and increased their lead. In the 23, Erick Sánchez, several meters from the area, finished off from the right leg a low ball that became 2-0.
America was explosive again in the second half and Alejandro Zendejas came close to discounting 52 with a shot that Ustari parried to keep to love Pachuca’s goal.
However, the Eagles deflated again and allowed the Tuzos to sentence the series. Víctor Guzmán, in the right lane, assisted Ibarra, who with a left-footed shot made it 3-0 to the 66.
Pachuca-Atlas will be the final of Mexican soccer.
