Los Angeles County resident shoots dead armed robber who broke into his home

A resident of Walnut in Los Angeles County, shot dead a suspected armed robber who broke into his home to steal , the authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 4 o’clock in the morning on Saturday in the block 20000 of East Country Hollow Drive, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

Officers responding to a call for a burglary report in progress were met at the scene by neighbors, described as a man from 27 years old and a woman 26 years old , who told the police that they were inside their house when they heard footsteps and went to see what was happening.

While searching for the source of the noise, the man was confronted by a male suspect wielding a firearm and both individuals fired, according to the statement.

The unidentified thief sustained injuries to the upper part of his body and was pronounced dead at the scene. A gun was found that was the one the suspect was carrying.

“The suspect sustained gunshot wounds to the upper torso and was declared dead at the scene,” the sheriff’s department said.

Residents do not were injured in the incident.

Furthermore, the authorities announced that a second suspect fled the house and he is currently being sought by Los Angeles County police.

However, a description of the second thief has not been provided and no clarified if he used a vehicle to flee the scene.
