In the recording, of 37 seconds long, three soldiers can be seen during the inspection of a vehicle, in which they suspected drug traffickers from the Northeast Cartel. However, the three occupants of the car refuse to get out of the unit and do not allow the search to be carried out. The soldiers try to inspect the driver, while a woman records everything and another screams that they are being attacked.
The military checkpoint installed in Nuevo Laredo is due to the fact that it is an obligatory route for drug traffickers who seek to cross drugs into the United States, pretending to be normal families, but with weapons and prohibited substances hidden in their vehicles. The Northeast Cartel and the Gulf Cartel operate in that area. (CDG), both have a common origin, as they emerged after the extinction of the Los Zetas cartel

Last 15 March, elements of the Mexican Army captured the top boss of the Northeast Cartel, Juan Gerardo Treviño Chávez, alias the Egg, who was extradited to the United States.
