Sadness prevailed during the funeral services for the fighter Juventud Rebelde, whose real name was Gerardo García Contreras, who was assassinated when he was leaving the gym, by some men who, according to witnesses, were trying to kidnap him, although there is another version that points to a reckoning, since it ensures that they approached him for no apparent reason, struggled and shot him at close range.
The wake was held in his native Irapuato, in the midst of a sad but calm atmosphere, where various relatives and acquaintances with crowns gathered of flowers to say goodbye to your loved one. Funeral services were held with an open casket and live band music.
“He was an athlete at heart, a large part of his life was wrestling, but he also liked soccer and even tennis, with his school he intended to leave a legacy in the youngest and bring them closer to the world of wrestling that he He gave so much joy and satisfaction“, recalled one of his students for El Sol de Irapuato. It should be remembered that “Jerry” García had a wrestling school, where he shared his techniques and experiences with children and young people.
Garcia is survived by his wife and 15 children, who also attended the evening to remember the good times they spent in their company.
Until now there are no detainees for this crime, although the authorities continue with the investigations.
Next Sunday there will be a march in which several fighters and residents of Guanajuato will participate to demand that the authorities clarify the case and improve security conditions in the state.
