The new season of Univision will bring many surprises for telenovela lovers. New seasons of “Corona de Lágrimas” and “La Desalmada” will be seen and will bring back stars like Victoria Ruffo, Livia Brito, José Ron, among others. The Hispanic chain confirmed in its Upfront 2022-2023 all the telenovelas that he prepares for the public and here we present them to you.
“Corona of tears 2”
After the shocking ending of “Crown of tears”, the story of Refugio and his family continues in the long-awaited second part. Refugio faces emotional and moral struggles while trying to unite her three children, who are facing love and economic rivalries. Returning stars from the original version for the second part include Victoria Ruffo, José María Torre, Alejandro Nones, Maribel Guardia and Ernesto Laguardia. “Crown of Tears 2” is produced by José Alberto “El Güero” Castro.
“Forgive us our sins”
The story follows the life of Elsa, daughter of Manuel, the richest and most violent man in the town of San Juan. Elsa is in love with Andrés, but Manuel will never allow them to marry since, in his opinion, Andrés is not worthy of his daughter’s love. Elsa and Andrés escape, but Manuel finds them and, to save Andrés’s life, Elsa asks him to run away and never look back, not knowing that she is pregnant with her child. Manuel locks Estela in a psychiatric ward, declaring that she is a threat to herself and to others, so he can keep everything. Andrés finds out about the situation and returns to find out that Elsa is expecting her son. Together they will fight to rescue what is theirs. Set in the present day and in a beautiful rural setting, the story is produced by Lucero Suárez, known for “Falling in love with Ramón”, “Ringo, the fight of his life” and “I give you life.”
“The Inheritance”
The death of a successful patriarch of an avocado plantation will drastically change the his children’s lives when a beautiful young woman claims to be his unknown sister. The star-studded cast includes Michelle Renaud, Matías Novoa and Daniel Elbittar. This story of power and deception is produced by multi-award winning producer Juan Osorio (whose hits include: “My husband has more family” and “Single with daughters”).

“Overcome absence”
The successful saga continues with this new story that follows four women facing a significant loss in their lives. They will bond through bravery, friendship, and family, and together they will begin a quest to find the truth behind what everyone thought was a tragic accident. After the success of “Overcoming Fear”, “Overcoming Heartbreak” and “Overcoming the Past”, “Overcoming the Absence” brings another contemporary story about the empowerment of women . Starring Mayrin Villanueva, Ariadne Díaz, Alejandra Barros and María Perroni, the story is produced by Rosy Ocampo.
“First you”
This is a powerful love story between a famous artist disgraced and a talented young woman who aspires to fame. Their love will unite them and they will find in each other the support they need.
“Nobody’s Woman”
A working woman is determined to overcome the betrayal she has suffered for part of the men closest to her. Underestimated for her beauty and for being a woman, Nora will face those who belittled her and fight to get back what is hers, including the man she loved. Livia Brito and Marcus Ornellas lead the top-tier cast. From the award-winning producer Giselle González, the series has a strong female lead and talks about current affairs. Other successful productions by González include “Cuna de lobos (2021)” and “Empire of lies .”
“ La madrastra”
The story features the long-awaited return of telenovela superstar Aracely Arámbula in the new version of the classic “The stepmother”. After serving a sentence of 14 years for a murder that she did not commit, María wants to see her children again, but they believe that she is dead. She thus she will embark on a mission to prove her innocence. As she used to be everyone’s confidant, she keeps secrets that could break marriages and bank accounts and even reveal the real killer. The star-studded cast includes acclaimed actor Andrés Palacios. Produced by the renowned Carmen Armendáriz (“The Usurper” and “Do You Remember Me”), this story puts a modern spin on the classic.
“La desalmada 2”
After the great success of “La desalmada” comes the next chapter from this romantic melodrama to Univision’s primetime. The story focuses on the life of Fernanda Linares, who, after avenging the murder of her first husband, focuses on regaining her husband’s trust. However, her past haunts her as Agustín tries to destabilize her new marriage and turn her husband against her. José Ron and Livia Brito return for the second season, which will feature more surprises and unexpected plot twists.
