Memo Ochoa made two blunders against Puebla and criticism rains down on social networks

The Mexican Guillermo Memo Ochoa was the protagonist in the victory of América 3-2 against Puebla for being portrayed in the second goal that the Mexico City team received.

Memo Ochoa played badly in the small area on two occasions in Puebla’s first goal. The Mexican goalkeeper witnessed how Israel Reyes scored as a Chilean to partially tie the game at the end of the first half.

After a cross to the América’s area, Ochoa came out halfway and was unable to intercept the ball that, after a header, bounced in the area and the Mexican did not reduce the space either before Reyes from Chilena tied the game 1-1 at that moment.

America’s goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, received severe criticism on social networks after the error in a one-minute start 45’+2 that led to Puebla’s partial tie in the overall score of the series that faced both clubs in the Clausura quarterfinals 2022.

Shortly after the mistake, users on social networks criticized the experienced azulcrema goalkeeper, emphasizing his aerial game because the play went through the small area in couple of occasions.

“Goal due to bad start by Ochoa (it doesn’t matter when you read this). “Look at the super goalkeeper with his hands…what a good start he threw.”

Goal for bad start by Ochoa (it doesn’t matter when you read this).

Luckily for América, they reversed the result to end up winning 3-2 and thus access the semifinal of the Mexican tournament. But Ochoa’s mistake could have been more serious during the tie.

The good moment of Club América in Liga MX, after the arrival of Fernando ‘Tano’ Ortiz to the bench,

has terrified the rest of the teams. With controversy included, the Eagles defeated Puebla 3-2 at the Azteca Stadium and are already in the semifinals of the Clausura Tournament 550.

In the second leg of the quarterfinals, the azulcrema demonstrated their power on the pitch and won the tie with goals from Henry Martin (42), Diego Valdés (58) and Alejandro Zendejas (73).
