In critical condition, Riverside resident who faced shooting with 3 suspects in home invasion

A Riverside resident is hospitalized in critical condition after facing fire at 3 suspects in a home invasion that occurred early this Sunday.

An incident occurred approximately 4: 40 am on a residence on the block 18400 of Moss Road, according to the Department of Riverside Police.

Authorities reported that the 3 suspects broke into the home, but were confronted by the owner of the property . One of the invaders shot the owner of the residence before escaping from the place.

The resident, only identified as a man, was taken by paramedics to a hospital with serious gunshot wounds.

The police said that The victim is expected to survive her injuries.

Detectives are conducting an investigation into the home invasion and shooting and have requested neighbors if they have information that might help, as well as business owners near the scene of the shooting to check their surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity.

This case of breaking and entering happened approximately 2 blocks from where a similar incident occurred just a few days earlier on the block 14100 of Ashton La ne.

In this case, 3 men armed with pistols entered a residence and forced 2 adults and a minor of 11 years to enter a bathroom, where they were bound with duct tape. The 3 subjects ransacked the house, in addition to stealing the victims’ cell phones, before fleeing the scene.

The Riverside Police Department is investigating both crimes, but indicated that it is too early to know if there is any relationship between the two home invasions.
