Canelo fight manipulated? Don Nacho Beristáin assures that he saw many strange things and left a controversial message

The legendary boxing trainer Nacho Beristáin gave his opinion on the fight between ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and Dmitry Bivol, in which the man from Guadalajara was notably outclassed by the Russian. However, Don Nacho commented that the fight was very strange.

Through an interview granted for Izquierdazo, the legendary Mexican boxing trainer commented that observed several inconsistencies and strange things during the ‘Canelo’ fight, especially because of the approach he arranged in the ring, Well, according to Don Nacho, he saw him doing things that he normally doesn’t do.

Don Nacho analyzed Canelo’s position and explained that he threw atypical shots from his repertoire, something that seemed very strange to him.

“He was throwing curveballs that he usually doesn’t throw. He has more quality than he saw. He was throwing many flared blows to the arms, to the rival’s gloves. That’s why I say it was a very strange fight”, explained the coach.

As if that were not enough, Beristáin left a bomb when he opined that there was something beyond Bivol’s own performance for this He achieved victory by ensuring that “someone screwed that up” and that finally he was not surprised that the Russian prevailed over the man from Guadalajara.

Lastly, and to add more controversy to his statements, he added that at the level at which the ‘Canelo’, boxing becomes a business, implying that the fight could have been fixed or manipulated.

“Boxing at that level is a business. A lot of people in the business don’t really realize what’s going on in a real fight,” said the legendary trainer.
