Windows has many functions to make life easier for its users. One of them is the ability to preview documents without the need to open them to see what they contain.

This function has been available for years in the Microsoft operating system, but commonly it happens unnoticed by the vast majority of users who are unaware of this hidden function of Windows.

Here are 3 ways to read your documents without having to open them:

one. File explorer

This tool in addition to allowing us browsing through system folders also offers the ability to preview content. In order to do so, it is necessary to enter the folder where the document we want to see is located .

Once in the folder it is necessary to press the “View” button located at the top of the screen. This will open a submenu where we need to click “preview”.

After doing this, just by clicking on the document icon an image will be displayed on the right side of the screen where you can see a preview of the complete document, regardless of the number of pages.

two. QuickLook

The second alternative requires the use of a Windows app called QuickLook which allows you to have a preview of the documents. Once installed, no configuration is necessary.

To use the application It is not necessary to access the Windows file explorer, it is only required to select the file that we want to preview and press the space bar.

This application can be downloaded for free directly from the Microsoft website.

3. WinQuickLook

For those people who have no problem using paid applications, WinQuickLook can be a good option. Its way of use is similar to that of other programs that offer functions of this type.

The main difference is that not only works to preview documents but also with PDFs, HTML files, as well as audio and video files.
