Salah was changed in the minute 33 by Diogo Jota , apparently feeling discomfort in the adductor, while Van Dijk was replaced at the end of extra time due to “a knee discomfort”, as explained by the Dutch defender himself to the end of the match.
“I felt it in the first half when I did a sprint. I played 20 minutes or so with a slight discomfort in the knee. I kept playing but, in the end, I can’t put the team at risk and I needed Joel Matip. We hope to be fine”, he told ‘ITV’, reported on the club’s website, at the end of the match.
