A plane fell on a bridge in Miami Beach and there are several injured

MIAMI – A small plane crashed this Saturday on one of the access bridges to Miami-Beach, Florida, impacting one of the cars that were circulating, with

the preliminary balance of six people injured, two in a state serious, informed the authorities.

Product of the impact, the single-engine plane caught fire leaving a column of black smoke.

The Miami-Dade Fire Department reported that a total of six people are being treated in medical centers with injuries of varying degrees.

2 people that were onboard the plane suffered traumatic injuries & were transported to local trauma centers. An additional 3 patients suffered non-life threatening injuries & were taken to a local area hospital. Additional patient info is being handled by @MiamiDadePD. (3/3)

Two of them, with serious injuries, were transported to the Ryder Trauma Center of Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, while the others were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters further reported that the fire has been extinguished and the debris has been removed.

Images transmitted on the television portal local NBC6, apparently taken from a mobile phone, showed the device engulfed in flames

while a dozen drivers passing through the area got out of their cars visibly scared.

One of cars was impacted by the plane and you can see its entire front part destroyed.

The incident It happened on the Haulover Inlet Bridge, one of the bridges that communicate with the island of Miami Beach, confirmed the authorities.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft was a Cessna 172 single engine

that lost power before crashing on the bridge about 5 miles (8 km) east of Opa Airport -Locka, after noon today.

Three people were on board the device , picked up the Local channel ,

without any news of his state of health.

According to the FAA, the plane had departed from Fort Lauderdale International Airport (north of Miami) and was heading to Key West International Airport when the accident occurred .

The Miami-Dade Police Department said on Twitter that the stretch of Collins Avenue between the streets 96 Y 163 was closed for the investigation of the incident, which is being handled by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
