One of the most surreal moments in football was experienced in the Argentine Cup, since in the match between Estudiantes de la Plata and Argentinos Juniors, a match corresponding to the quarterfinals, the goalkeeper Mariano Andújar got involved in an unusual discussion with the referee during the draw to decide who was going to kick first in the penalty shootout.

And it is that just before the penalty shootout began, the main referee called the two captains to make the draw that would determine who would be the first to execute their penalty, but the goalkeeper Andújar He protested to the referee because he didn’t want that color and demanded he repeat it.

“I didn’t want blue, You didn’t let me choose Do it again”, Andújar repeated throwing a tantrum after the draw determined that Argentinos Juniors would start kicking.

Andújar’s protest occurred because the referee, Echenique, chose the green color of the coin for Andújar and blue for the captain of Argentinos Juniors, Fausto Vera. At first Andújar did not protest, but when he saw that he lost the draw He argued that the referee did not let him choose and demanded that he repeat the draw. Which did not happen.

Already in the penalty shootout, Argentinos Juniors won 3-4, and finally Andújar and Estudiantes were eliminated from the Cup.
