The case of the two babies was not followed up and the person responsible for the atrocious events never existed, but in the year 2020, a new detective was assigned and he started an investigation regarding the two babies. The first thing he did was to enter the DNA of both children in the genealogical database of the state of Minnesota and where it produced an important result, since two people had a certain similarity.

The first person that the detective found through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Crime Lab, went to the father of one of the babies, to later identify Jennifer Lynn Matter , currently 30 years old.

The detective got a warrant for the woman to give the test and after performing the corresponding tests, the result was positive as the biological mother of the babies.

Jennifer Lynn spoke with the officers regarding her children, and reported that in 1999 his life was chaotic, he drank a lot, got into trouble, was in and out of jail constantly, but she never felt that she was pregnant, until one day she started bleeding and feeling bad, she went home and in a bathroom gave birth.

Regarding the baby of 2003, said that his life she was still the same and one day she decided to go to the beach and at the moment she went into labor. She had the baby and without any remorse, left him there abandoned until the current of water took him away

, according to what the authorities try to understand.

Lynn Matter said that she hoped that some family from the nearby houses could see and keep it. After 27 years, Jennifer Lynn Matter was charged with second degree murder with unintentional intent and second degree murder without intent.

Currently Is being held in the Goodhue County Jail without bail, this is for the baby of 2003.

The detective along with the Goodhue police work to blame her and assign him felony charges for the baby of 1999, since they are both her children and she let them die in terrible circumstances .
