Although at the time it was Tesla who promised the electric truck with the Cybertruck, Rivian was ahead with a much faster response time. The Rivian R1T is here to grab a major chunk of the truck market.
This car is capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time similar to a sports car, a high utility like any other large SUV and an interior that is among the best on the market.
In terms of design there are no major changes in the Rivian R1T. The surface remains smooth and there is an LED DRL bar that runs the full width of the front end. This LED bar also doubles as a charging indicator that turns green when plugged in.
The headlights have a fairly modern look and fog lights housed in the bumper are also available. The towing hooks are also located there.
This car is equipped with aluminum wheels of 21 inches, although they can also be placed in 10 inches or low-profile sneakers 22 inches.
Inside, the Rivian R1T looks very much like a luxury sedan. The dashboard is clad in ash wood with natural veining in the Adventure variant. There are three themes to choose from: Black Mountain (dark), Ocean Coast (white), and Forest Edge (brown). In the basic Explore package, high-quality fabrics are used.
This luxurious electric car has a central screen of 15.6 inches that looks as premium as Most expensive iPad. This display is LTE and Wi-Fi capable, Bluetooth and has built-in Alexa voice commands.
It also has digital instruments from 12.3 inches displaying essential driving information, such as range, state of charge, speed and reversing aids.

Powertrain
There are two options for the Rivian R1T. A quad-motor AWD design with an electric motor for each wheel and a dual-motor AWD option with an electric motor for each axle. The quad motor configuration is capable of reaching 835 horsepower and generate 1024 foot-pounds of torque. This takes it to go from 0 to 30 miles per hour in just three seconds.
For its part, the dual motor configuration is not far behind, it has a power of 552 hp and 600 foot-pounds of torque being able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds.
Batteries
Three packages are offered although in reality there are only two available. The standard package that is capable of having up to 100 range miles will be offered from 2024.
The two-engined Rivian R1T called “Large” offers a declared range of 300 miles while the “Max” has a rating of 400 miles.
