The Mexican Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez is ready for his fight this Saturday 14 from May against Dominic Boesel. The objective, of course, is to add a victory that brings him a little closer to the brand of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

(50-0), his great goal.

“Zurdo”, signed by Golden Boy Promotions, has the guidance of Óscar de la Hoya, who motivates him in his plan to overcome the undefeated record of Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Sinaloan has a record of 43-0, with 18 knockouts.

He is eight wins away from making history and achieving something that not even Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez himself -whom he has “called ” on more than one occasion-, he was able to do. De la Hoya knows what the long-term goal is, and he confirmed it in a pre-fight interview: “ The long-term plan is to take it to 52-0 and end the record that Floyd Mayweather owns“.

Zurdo himself declared in 2021 that the possibility of beating the Mayweather Jr.’s brand is something that motivates him: “ It’s a motivation for me. There is no pressure, I train a lot, I am disciplined in the gym and I trust my possibilities and abilities, I think that nobody else has them”, he pointed out at the time.

In his last fight he knocked out Yunieski González, the 18 from December to 2021. The victory 44 could be achieved by beating the German Dominic Boesel, who holds a record of 32-2.

Zurdo wants to take another step towards the history.
