David Faitelson is merciless and his attacks on Canelo Álvarez do not stop: “His merit is having gone further than his powers gave him”

After he broke out on social networks and attacked Canelo Álvarez in a large number of tweets, David Faitelson also took advantage of ESPN’s microphones to thwart the Aztec boxer.

After saying over and over again, in different ways, that the fight in which he lost against Dmitry Bivol only served Canelo to prove himself and demonstrate his lack of boxing resources on his official account on Twitter, in his capsule “La Mirada de Faitelson”, on ESPN, the analyst gave him everything again, despite the fact that he began by clarifying that he did not hold a grudge against him and that he did not want make firewood from the fallen tree.

“The reality is that Canelo was, if not beaten, he was completely overcome. And then they are the boxing conditions, the technical skills, which are capable of elevating the best boxer in the world, where were they? Throwing blows at the arms of the Russian , try to finish the fight with a single impact? When was there a change of pace? When was there a blow that shook the Russian? A boxing of angles…? Nothing, absolutely nothing because he can’t do it. Canelo is what he is and period”, he commented in the clip

Later he demerited his career, since, from his point of view, it is not what he and his team would have us believe, since he considers that he is far from being the best boxer in the world and the best Mexican boxer in history, for what he named six examples that he considers to be better than him.

“For me he is not the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, nor the best in the history of Mexican boxing, because he does not have the skills or abilities of Julio César Chávez, Rubén Olivares, Mantequilla Napoles, Juan Manuel Márquez, Erik Morales, Finito López… he is not at that level”, he stated.

Later in the capsule, suggests that the unified super middleweight champion is a product of industry marketing.

“Canelo has been a necessity of the industry, of the times, of money, of the economy” , he expressed.

Finally, he mentioned several things that he admires about Canelo, but all of them highlighting things that have nothing to do directly with boxing or that detract from his professional work.

“I admire his discipline and his ability to go further than his faculties gave him. I admire his seriousness, his honesty and the way in which he has turned boxing into something that has led him to generate hundreds of millions of dollars , but until then nothing more ” he sentenced.

It is worth mentioning that Faitelson also hit Canelo hard in his column for Cancha, the sports section of the Reforma newspaper, which was titled: “It is not what they sold us”.
