MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced Monday a agreement that will allow baseball to return to the capital of England.

According to information released by MLB, the agreement with the mayor of London establishes the formation of an organization in which officials from the city government and the baseball and softball federation of that country participate.

With this announcement it could be that the Dodgers, a team with great players and guarantees, could play a game in the United Kingdom for the first time in the history of the franchise.

MLB has achieved a rapprochement of the league with the European country, where in the year 2019 Two games were staged between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

For the campaign of 2020 several matches were also scheduled on English soil, but the covid-pandemic 19 prevented them from being carried out.

For this year, the Major Leagues have planned a Home Run Festival, to be held on July 9 at London’s Crystal Palace Park.

With this new approach, the city of London is positioned to host Major League regular season games.

As part of this strategy that seeks to open new markets for baseball, MLB would also host games on English soil at 2024 and 2026.
