City of Gardena authorities arrested a Lancaster resident who was wanted in connection with the homicide of a woman committed this Sunday at a local motel, in Los Angeles County.
Officers from the Gardena Police Department responded to the scene of the murder, the Redondo Beach Motel, in 1351 from W. Redondo Beach Boulevard around 4: 45 am, after receiving reports that a shooting had occurred in the area.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a woman, Chiquita Walton , aged 37 years old and originally from Lancaster, with a wound caused by a firearm.
Moments later, the woman died at the place where the shots occurred .
This Monday, the Gardena Police Department reported that they had arrested Alexander McGowan as a homicide suspect , of years, who is also originally from Lancaster.
Detectives seek to determine if there is a reason for the shooting as the investigations progress.
McGowan is in the custody of the authorities with a bond of $2 million dollars.
