Edson Álvarez scored a “title” goal this Sunday at the Ajax’s draw at AZ Alkmaar (2-2), which brought his team closer to winning the Eredivisie, which is only two days away from its definition.
Ajax lost 2-1 in the minute 86′ when the “Machín” appeared, who rose higher than the rest in a corner kick and with an accurate header sent the ball into the net. A great goal, the third he has scored this season in the Eredivisie.
Despite not getting the three points, Álvarez prevented Ajax from falling and kept them more than three points behind PSV, who later tied and opened the door for his arch rival to win the title as early as next week.
Edson Álvarez played the 90′ minutes for the first time in a month. The last time they had played completely was on April 9 against Sparta Rotterdam.
Ajax leads PSV by four points and to win against Heerenveen at home on the penultimate matchday, will reach a new Eredivisie title. If successful, Edson Álvarez would add a new title and could turn his sights towards bigger challenges… The Premier League would call.
