“Putin signs decree on new tit-for-tat sanctions on Russia,” headlines the Russian news agency Tass. According to the decree, Russia will prohibit the export of products and raw materials to persons and entities that it has sanctioned.
The decree also prohibits transactions with foreign persons and companies affected by the retaliatory sanctions of Russia and allows Russian counterparts not to fulfill their obligations towards them.
But the document does not provide any details about which persons or entities may be affected by the measures.
According to the decree, the Russian Government has days to compile lists of foreign individuals and companies that will be sanctioned, as well as to define “additional criteria” for a series of transactions that could be subject to restrictions.
