A Pennsylvania mother allegedly shot her two sons in the head while they slept

Trinh Nguyen, aged 38, was arrested for senseless violence after she fled the scene of the shooting in Newtown and drove to the parking lot of a nearby church, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported, citing prosecutors.

The mother had ingested narcotics in a failed suicide attempt, according to the report .

She was hospitalized and later charged with three counts of attempted murder.

Nguyen’s children, ages 9 and 13 years, were seriously injured and kept on life support so that their organs could be donated, according to the i Report.

After allegedly shooting children in their bedrooms, a neighbor who heard the shots found the woman sitting on her front lawn with a box of photos, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub told reporters at a news conference Monday.

Nguyen asked the neighbor, identified as Gianni Melchiondo, aged 22, to give the photos to her ex-husband. , who works with the man.

After Melchiondo agreed, the mother allegedly pulled out a black revolver, pointed it at the neighbor and pulled the trigger twice, according to Weintraub.

The gun did not fire and Melchiondo took the gun from the woman. After allegedly shooting the children, the neighbor who heard the shots from the house on 119 Timber Ridge Road, found the woman sitting in the front garden.
