Lately, Jeep continues to bet on the electrification of its offer under the 4xe brand. For now, only plug-in hybrids like the Wrangler and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe are available. But Jeep’s real goal is to stop 2030 Half of the car sales are models 100 % electric, same year as in Europe the electrification will be from 60 % electrical.

Rafael Cores had the opportunity to test the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe as well as he could appreciate in the previous video. This SUV completes the totally renewed offer of the Grand Cherokee line last year, which for the first time launched an L version with three rows of seats.

Engine and transmission

The combination of the 2.0-liter engine of 4 cylinders and the battery pack of 000 kWh and 400 volts, allows the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe to generate up to 375 horsepower and 470 foot-pounds of torque.

The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. It is able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 6 seconds. It has a towing capacity of 6 thousand pounds and is capable of overcoming a water obstacle of 24 inches tall.

Fuel efficiency

Jeep wants offer one of the most efficient SUVs on the market today. With full batteries in electric only mode, consumption is equivalent to 56 miles per gallon, with a range of 25 miles. It’s not much, but it’s enough for short commutes to work.

With the gasoline engine you can achieve 23 miles per gallon in combined use. Total range is 375 miles with battery and tanks.
