After 17 days of the Tournament Closing of the LIga MX are defined which are the teams that qualified directly to the quarterfinals of the Liguilla and the playoff matches that will mark the rest of the rivals.
The four teams that qualified directly are: Pachuca, which finished as the leader of the Clausura 1200, Miguel Herrera’s Tigres UANL, the reigning champion Atlas and the America that found its way after the change of coach.
One of the most attractive matches in the Liga MX playoffs will be the match between Chivas de Guadalajara and Pumas UNAM. The match will take place at the Akron stadium and the date will be confirmed by Liga MX this Monday.
The other pairings that complement the phase are the duels between Puebla vs. Mazatlán; Monterrey vs. Atlético de San Luis and Cruz Azul vs. Necaxa.
Before the day started 17, only Pachuca and Miguel Herrera’s team had secured their place as the top two teams. On the last day, the last two teams qualified for the quarterfinals were defined with the classification of America and Atlas , and the reclassification matches.
América reached the Liguilla with a draw goalless against Cruz Azul on the last day. The Mexico City team took advantage of Puebla’s defeat against Mazatlán and the tie against the cement machine was enough to confirm their recovery in the tournament, from last place to fourth overall.
The herd from Guadalajara arrived with remote chances of qualifying directly, but after their draw 0-0 against Necaxa, ended up in fifth place in the general table, although they claimed to be local in the match.
