Chicharito Hernández's Los Angeles Galaxy lost undefeated to Real Salt Lake

The Los Angeles Galaxy lost their undefeated season 2022 in Major League Soccer with a 1-0 loss to Real Salt Lake. Real Salt Lake had five games without a win in the American league, with three draws and two losses.

The only score of the match came in the minute 49 after a header by the Uruguayan Marcelo Silva after a corner in the that the Galaxy goalkeeper, Jonathan Bond, was not successful in his departure.

The first half was marked by parity and with both teams arriving in danger. In the second half, the Galaxy tried to react despite the clear attempts of the Mexican Efraín Álvaes and Samuel Grandsir had two clear chances.

Dejan Joveljic , who on the last day had given the Galaxy a victory in the minute 86 against Nashville SC (1-0, scored the tie in added minutes, but the goal was annulled after a VAR review.

Real Salt Lake of Utah started the season in a good way with 10 points in the first four games, but in the following five games recorded three draws and two losses (one of them 6-0 against New York City FC).

The LA Galaxy with the loss loses distance in the part of the Western Conference, led by Austin FC with 20 points in the first position, and in second place is LAFC, of the Mexican Carlos Vela, with 19 points and a game less.

Unless the rest of the MLS day is played, the Galaxy and Real Salt Lake (these with one game left) are tied for third place in the West with 16 points.
