With the retirement of Sheila Kuehl, the position of Los Angeles County Supervisor for District 3, which covers most of the San Fernando Valley, Beverly Hills, parts of Los Angeles, Santa Monica and West Hollywood.

She is also President of California Contract Cities, former president of Women in Municipal Government of the National League of Cities and a member of the executive committee of the Clean Power Alliance, among other public functions.

Horvath led the local response to COVID-19. She streamlined paperwork to help businesses expand outdoor operations and provided rental relief. She created the first domestic violence community response team

Under her direction North Hollywood was the first in the nation to impose financial penalties on Arizona for its anti-immigrant SB-1070.

She is a defender of LGBTQ rights, including her older adults through the Board of Services and Advocacy for the Elderly GLBT.

Successfully advocated for full funding of the unproven rape kit evidence backlog in the city and county.
