Film and television stars from Latin America and Spain and former soccer players from the League played a soccer game on Saturday morning at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, home of Atlético de Madrid . The Encounter of the Stars was held within the framework of the Platinum Awards, whose gala will be held on the night of Sunday, May 1 in Madrid, and had the collaboration of the Red Cross for the benefit of the victims of the war in Ukraine.

The lawn became a stage to support the Ukrainian people and demand an end to the war. Ibero-American artists invited to the ninth edition of the Platino Awards put on their football boots. Among them: China Suárez, Amaury Nolasco, Alejandro Nones, Maggie Civantos, Daniel Guzmán, Carolina Gaitán, Antonio Velázquez, Jesús Castro, Marc Clotet, Adrián Lastra , Eduardo Rosa, Juan Pablo Urrego, Franco Masini Carlos Ponce, Arturo Valls, Abril Zamora and Miguel Lago.

Carolina Gaitán shared photos of the match on her Instagram.

Ex-soccer players like Fernando Hierro, Fernando Morientes, Javier Saviola, Gaizka Mendieta, Fernando Sanz, Aintzane Encinas, César Sánchez, Xabi Prieto and Luis García were also present on the pitch.

The result was the least, but of course, the former soccer players were so superior that in the second half they had to mix the teams to make it more even.

After the game, sports memorabilia, such as the match ball and signed jerseys, were auctioned off. The Red Cross will allocate the funds raised during the event to assist Ukrainian refugees who are migrating to Spain. In addition, the LaLiga portal with Ukraine has been enabled to make donations.

As part of LaLiga’s collaboration with the Platino Awards, the gala carpet will be green and not red, sponsored by the football league from Spain.
