Every time there is less to witness a great boxing match. Saúl Álvarez and Dmitry Bivol will face each other next Saturday May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A week before the fight, the Russian begins to launch threats and clues about how he will face the duel against Canelo.

“I throw more blows to his head and body. Sure, I’m going to try to hurt him as much as he can when he gets the chance to . I don’t think about my position at light heavyweight right now. It doesn’t matter, I have a belt and I have to defend it against an opponent from another division,” Bivol said in an interview broadcast by Matchroom Boxing.

In this sense, the WBA champion of 80 pounds will have his eighth title defense after he became world champion in 2017 after beating Trent Broadhurst. The Russian boxer has expressed himself with an astonishing confidence of achieving a victory over the man from Guadalajara.

“ I feel that it is my division, that it is my belt . I’m here, I’m the champion and I should win. Maybe (Canelo) has already faced boxers with my speed, power and my movements, but I’m sure he has never seen the combinations that I have ”, sentenced the Russian.

Finally, Dmitry Bivol is aware of the huge showcase which will take place on May 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Russian boxer will face this fight as the ideal match to show his abilities to the world and stain, for the second time, the record of Saúl Álvarez.

“I’m different (…) I have the opportunity to show my skills to many boxing fans. This is what I wanted when I started professional boxing”, concluded Dmitry Bivol.
