Authorities in Mexico announced that Second Lieutenant Tania Quintana and Sergeant Ana Laura Olvera were released after being kidnapped for several hours in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Although the motive for the kidnapping was not officially disclosed, different versions establish that it was a revenge after the death of “El Chopa” .
According to the official version, the events occurred a few meters from where last week elements of the National Guard detained and fatally wounded this member of the criminal group, cataloged by US authorities as the most violent in Mexico.
Versions in the Mexican media suggest that it was a reprisal for the death, the 23 April 2022, after a confrontation with the National Guard in Puerto Vallart a, of Saúl Alejandro Rincón Godoy, alias “El Chopa”, alleged lieutenant of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and alleged intellectual author of the murder of Jorge Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz, former governor of the state of Jalisco.
In addition, it is believed that the kidnapping was also a means of putting pressure on the authorities, to release Rosalinda González Valencia, alias “La Jefa”, wife of “El Mencho”, who was captured on 15 November 2021.
This case is the second that the authorities have faced in less than six months, after last November they were kidnapped and later released two elements of the Secretary of the Navy.
Presumably on the orders of Laisha Michelle Oseguera González and Christian Fernando Gutiérrez Ochoa, daughter and son-in-law, also of “El Mencho”.
