Last 10 April, Fort Collins Police Services in Colorado responded to an emergency call after a caller reported that a child of had been shot, who died in hospital.
Thus, the life of 6-year-old Roy Summers ended in an instant, despite the fact that the emergency services did everything possible to rescue him , but eventually died as a result of his injuries.
After the facts, the police shared information about how they believe that Summers came into contact with the weapon, so they have launched an investigation to help them locate the parents who face an arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, the detectives investigated to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic or incident. After processing the scene, gathering evidence, and conducting interviews, they learned that Roy’s mother, Rosinetta Mackall, aged 40, had taken the gun that same day and left it unlocked in an area his children frequently accessed. Several hours later, Roy took the gun and was accidentally shot.
Mackall was charged with child abuse, causing the death of a minor, and illegal storage of a firearm.
In addition, while detectives interviewed Mackall’s husband, Ron Matthews, of 35 years old, who did not live in the house and was not present when the shooting occurred. When asked about his interactions with Mackall surrounding the incident, Matthews lied and manipulated the evidence of their conversation.
As a result, Matthews faces one count of attempting to influence a public servant and tampering with physical evidence.
The arrest warrants were signed on 21 of April. Police have been trying to find Mackall and Matthews ever since, but have been unsuccessful in locating them or contacting them by phone.
Last Contact of the couple with the authorities was during a civil court hearing on Thursday 21 April, and detectives are concerned they may have left the area after that virtual appearance.
