The French president, Emmanuel Macron, was the victim of the throwing of several cherry tomatoes, which did not impact him, during a visit to a market in a city in the Parisian region.
On his first departure from Paris after his re-election last Sunday, Macron traveled to Cergy-Pontoise to talk to citizens in the streets and discuss political and environmental issues with them.
While passing the stalls of a market, several cherry tomatoes (which are about the size of a cherry) flew close to him, while his security service acted quickly to remove him and open an umbrella.

Macron did not speak about the incident in subsequent statements to the media, in which members of his security service could be seen a little nervous, among the crowd who wanted to raise complaints or questions, or simply say hello to the president.

In their statements, Macron again showed a very moderate tone ahead of the June National Assembly elections , and said he was going to “try reconcile the French.
He also promised to name a prime minister “involved in the social, environmental and productive issue”, in another of the nods to the left that he has released in recent weeks.
