Suspect arrested in case of 10-year-old girl found dead in Wisconsin

Police said Tuesday that arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a girl from 10 years old whose body was found on a walking trail in Wisconsin, according to WEAU.
Lily Peters, a fourth grader from 10 years old, was reported missing by her father on Sunday night said police in Chippewa Falls, a town about 26 miles to the east. from Minneapolis.
The girl had been at her aunt’s house on Sunday and never came home that night, the police said.

On Tuesday night, Kelm said police arrested an unidentified minor suspect who was not a stranger to the girl. Kelm said the family knew the suspect.
“While nothing will bring Lily Peters back, we are grateful to break the news of an arrest to the family,” Kelm said at a news conference.
Kelm reported that more than 200 tips were provided to Dep Police Department, which were essential for the investigation. Police executed a search warrant at 550 N. Grove Street, near where he was found. Peters body, said Kelm.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal Investigation Department finished processing the crime scene Monday night, and the Chippewa County Coroner’s Office removed Peters’ body for a forensic autopsy.
The crime scene will be handled by law enforcement for the time being, which includes Duncan Creek Trail, Leinenkugel’s Brewery parking lot, and nearby wooded areas.
The public is asked to avoid the area.
