The Canelo Álvarez was blunt in assuring that he will not lose the fight he will have against Dmitry Bivol on May 7; in fact, he said that for now he does not see a rival who can defeat him and that he feels invincible thanks to the work he has done during his preparation.
“This is boxing, but no one can beat me now, I feel at my best. And without disrespecting other fighters . There are some great fighters. But I feel at my best. I feel strong, I feel in my best shape“, he declared for the specialized site Boxing Scene.
The Jalisco boxer attributed this to his experience, since he argued that every day improves and that all the mistakes of the past have served him to learn from them and not make them again.
“We are always trying to do something (new) in the gym. We try not to make the same mistakes that I made in my last fight. So we are always working on something”, he added.
And Álvarez is an athlete In every sense of the word, for him training is not an obligation, but rather his lifestyle, and this is what has strengthened him as an athlete.
“I don’t come to the gym like, ‘oh, I have to train because I have a big fight.’ This is part of my life. These types of fights, these types of challenges, motivate me. These kinds of fights, big fights like this, make me feel motivated,” he concluded.
Saúl Álvarez, who has a record of 57 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, will face Dmitry Bivol in Las Vegas for the World Boxing Association light heavyweight belt.
