There is a new millionaire in Southern California and this Monday is the deadline for the lucky winner to collect their prize.

A lottery ticket $2.2 million dollar winning Powerball, which was sold in Perris, Riverside County, still unclaimed 6 months after drawing, California Lottery officials said.

Upon learning, residents of the city of Perris have spread the news among their acquaintances so they can check their tickets.

However, an employee of a Circle K thinks he has seen the winner of the drawing held on 27 October.

“When we see it on camera, we know it”, said the employee of the business where the winning ticket was sold, Tamer Zaky.

The employee mentioned that the California Lottery sent the store the exact time the ticket was purchased, so they were able to review surveillance video and acknowledge to the winner, who was once a frequent customer.

The winning person was described as being short, slightly overweight and always wearing a hat.

This resident, shortly after purchasing the lottery ticket, stopped frequenting the store and do not know his name.

According to officials, many prizes have gone unclaimed since the California Lottery began, in the mid-2000s 100.

“A billion dollars has gone unclaimed in the state of California,” said lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Becker.

The backgrounds two of the unclaimed prizes go to California schools.

The winning ticket of the raffle of the 27 October 2021 matched 5 numbers: 3 , 6, 26, 35 Y 51, and only the red Powerball was missing, which was the 17.

In case the owner of the winning ticket does not show up this Monday, $2.2 million dollar award will benefit more California schools.
