The advisor to the Ukrainian Presidency, Mijailo Podolyak, suggested this Sunday that Russia hold a special round of talks on Mariupol, while denouncing that even for Orthodox Easter, Russian troops bomb the Azovstal steelworks, the last nucleus of resistance in that southeastern city of Ukraine.
In a message on Twitter, picked up by the Unian and Ukrinform agencies, Podolyak, a member of the negotiating delegation, suggests “that Russia think about the remains of your reputation.”
“This requires only ‘three Mariupol steps’: declare a real Easter truce over Mariupol, immediately grant a humanitarian corridor for civilians, and agree to a “special round of negotiations” so that we can pick up/exchange soldiers”, summarized.
At the same time he denounced the bo mbardeos to the Azovstal steel plant, where civilians and soldiers take refuge.
“Easter 2022. But right now the Russian Federation is attacking Azovstal in Mariupol non-stop. The place where our civilians and military are located is being attacked with aerial bombs, bombarded with artillery, and forces and equipment are being intensively concentrated for an assault. Who gave the “no assault” order there? assault on the fortified metallurgical factory to save the lives of the Russian soldiers, but ordered to block it in such a way that “not a fly passes”.
