Jack Nicholson was born in Neptune City, New Jersey, United States, the 22 April 1937, his mother worked as a chorus girl and did not know the identity of his father.
Nicholson grew up believing her maternal grandparents were her parents and was told that her mother was actually her older sister.
He learned the truth many years later, when his name became famous and alone arose due to a background investigation conducted by a magazine.
The actor was often in trouble during his time at school and in fact his schoolmates voted him the ‘Class Clown’ for his graduating class in 1954.
Jack Nicholson had always wanted to be an actor and his first assignment as an actor was with the “Players Ring Theater” in the year 1957. At the same time, he managed to get some supporting roles for television and also acted in B movies.
One year after joining the Players Ring Theatre, got a lead role in the movie ‘The Cry Baby Killer’.
Nicholson thought his acting career was over and so he devoted himself to writing scripts. Wrote ‘The Trip’, starring Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper, which premiered at 1967.
Year 1970 turned out to be particularly fruitful for Jack Nicholson, he starred in the movie ‘Five Easy Pieces’, which proved to be a defining role in his career and was instantly considered the new big thing in Hollywood. In the That same year, he appeared in ‘On a Clear Day You Can See Forever’ and over the next few years he starred in such films as ‘Carnal Knowledge’ and ‘The Last Detail’, ‘Chinatown’, ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’, ‘The Passenger ‘ ‘El Resplandor’, ‘Reds’, ‘The Postman Always Rings Twice’, ‘Ironweed’ and ‘Terms of Endearment’, among others.
An iconic role in her career she played the role of ‘The Joker’ in the movie ‘Batman’ released in 1970 and the film was a resounding success because it grossed close to 100 millions of dollars.
Jack Nicholson played the role of a deranged gang boss in the movie of 2006 ‘The Departed’, starring Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio. His portrayal of him as ‘Frank Costello’ earned him a Golden Globe nomination .
He has won the Academy Award for Best Actor three times: first for his role in the movie ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ in 1976, the second for his role in the movie 1983 ‘Terms of Endearment’ and his third for his films of 1997 ‘As Good As It Gets’.
The actor married Sandra Knight in the year 1962, but the marriage ended six years later. The couple had a daughter named Jennifer.
Throughout his life, Nicholson had a large number of relationships and some of them include actress Susan Anspach, Anjelica Hutson and model Winnie Hollman, with the latter he had a daughter.
He later entered into a romantic relationship with actress Rebecca Broussard in 1989 and during the five years of relationship the couple had two children; Lorraine and Raymond.
