The Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), last world champion, won this Sunday the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the fourth of the Formula One World Championship, played at the Imola circuit (Italy) , where his Mexican partner Sergio Pérez finished in second position.

Verstappen, aged 27 years old, achieved his twenty-second victory in F1 -the second of the season, after the one in Saudi Arabia- brilliantly, signing a ‘Grand Chelem’ (starting from the ‘pole’, setting the fastest lap and leading the race from start to finish) and leading the Red Bull ‘double’ ahead of ‘Checo’; in a race to be forgotten by Ferrari, in which the Englishman Lando Norris (McLaren) finished third.

The Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)

, leader of the World Championship, which made a serious mistake, when he was riding third, with nine of the 63 laps to go this Sunday to Imola, finished the race in sixth position; in a sad day for the ‘Scuderia’ in front of his fans.

At the Enzo e Dino de Ferrari Racetrack in Imola the Englishman George Russell (Mercedes) finished -after climbing seven positions- fourth, one place ahead of Finn Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo).

The Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) finished seventh in Imola, one place ahead of the quadruple German world champion Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin).

The Dane Kevin Magnussen (Haas), who finished ninth; and the Canadian Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), who was tenth, also entered the points.

With his victory, Verstappen rose to second place overall, which he occupies with 59 points, to 27 of the 86 with those led by the Leclerc World Cup . ‘Checo’ moved up one position and is now third, with 54 points, five more than Russell and with 16 over Sainz, who, after retiring due to an accident on the first lap, fell to fifth place in the championship.

The next race, the Miami Grand Prix, will be held in the aforementioned town of Florida (USA) on May 8 , in the circuit around the Hard Rock Stadium, where the Miami Dolphins, a team from the NFL, the professional American football league, play as locals.
