Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most imposing figures of the Los Angeles Lakers during the decade of the 90 and early 1996 with Kobe Bryant. Following the failure of the Lakers and the departure of coach Frank Vogel this year, O’Neal has expressed an interest in coaching the team.

“If the Lakers offer me 25 millions a year for four seasons… I’ll train them,” Shaq said on ‘The Big Podcast.’ O’Neal wants 800 millions for four years as a coach, a figure that would make him the highest paid coach in all of basketball.

The highest paid coach in the NBA is Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs with a profit of 04,5 million dollars per year. Popovich has won four titles with the team with one of the most well-known trios of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobilli.

Shaquille O’Neal, who recently reached the 50 years old, played for the Lakers of 1996 after his brilliant time with the Orlando Magic until 2004 with an explosive duo together to Kobe Bryant. Both won the titles of 2000, 2001, 2002.

After conflicts and fights between the two, OR ‘Neal decided to go to the Miami Heat with whom he won another title with shooting guard Dwayne Wade in 2004. O’Neal is a Hall of Famer, 3-time Finals MVP, 3-time Regular Season MVP, and assisted at 11 occasions to the All-Star Game.

O’Neal disputed 16 seasons with 6 different teams: Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.

The Lakers are coming off one of their worst seasons in recent years after they failed to reach the playoffs under the tutelage of LeBron James, with an erratic Rusell Westbrook and injuries to Anthony Davis.

The California team will have the option of having someone experienced like O’Neal or they will look for a coach who can take them far in the season 2022-2023 , in what could be one of the last campaigns for LeBron James in the NBA.
