The departure of Marcelo Michel Leaño has left much to talk about and the change in attitude within the Chivas de Guadalajara, although the player Fernando Beltrán assured that the players did not support the coach in his work.

Being one Of the players who have gradually received minutes again until he has established himself as a key piece, the player was surprised by these statements and assumed that not all of them were up to the task.

“ The reality is that we did not want a change. We work every day and since the tournament began we had a purpose. What we lacked as players was giving him weapons . We took that responsibility because he was a coach who contributed a lot to us and we did not respond to him. This is about results and we didn’t give them to show the fans that he deserved to be here. We were not in solidarity with him”, commented ‘Nene’ Beltrán.

Condemned the violence against Chivas

The player acknowledged that the poor results generated great frustration in the fans but this does not justify what happened outside the concentration hotel in Mexico City, where acts of violence occurred .

“We understand the frustration experienced by the fans because we didn’t give results. I know that you got desperate, so did we. I know that this bothers you a lot, but in the end, let them understand one thing: do not try to approach us with violence and with ways of attacking us or to our family. There are ways, do not intervene with people who have nothing to do with it because in the end it ends up being harmful and instead of us being well, they are going to worry us more like players because they are attacking our families”, added Beltrán.

The Chivas de Guadalajara will face the UNAM Pumas in the penultimate day of the regular phase of the Clausura 2022, where both teams seek to stay in the playoff zone.
