Days after the entertainment company Netflix announced a sharp drop in subscribers, now CNN+, another streaming platform, reported that it will stop working as of 30 in April, after starting operations almost a month ago.

The project, which for a $5 subscription.99 dollars gave users access to an extensive amount of world news, analysis tables and content such as Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and Anderson Cooper Full Circle, has closed due to the merger between Warner Media and Discovery Communications a week ago, indicated The Wall Street Journal.

During the negotiations it transpired that Discovery executives expressed doubts about the service strategy that CNN+ could offer , even though $300, had been invested ,000 dollars on it.

“In a complex transmission market, consumers want simplicity and a comprehensive service that provides a better experience and more value than standalone offerings,” said Discovery Director of Streaming JB Perrette.

Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc, what is the name of the merger of more than $42,000 million dollars, owns in its content catalog from HBO, HBO Max, CNN, DC Films, Warner Bros, New Line Cinema, Travel Channel, Animal Planet, among others, and seeks to be the leading competition in the streaming category like Netflix or Disney+.

CNN originally had high expectations of providing a complete service for news lovers. In a press release dated February 23 Andrew Morse, Executive Vice President of CNN said that “nobody else can offer what we are going to offer”.

Those who have subscribed to the CNN platform will receive a refund.
