Some videos that circulate on the internet have been the reason for the murders of five youtubers and Mexican influencers, who were silenced by the drug cartels . In some cases, it is suspected that the victims had links with capos and regional bosses of criminal organizations most dangerous in Mexico; and in others his innocence is presumed. Here are the most notorious cases that went viral, became a trend or were even used for stories on television programs. The most recent is from Compa Jorge, a youtuber who revealed that he met one of the children of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán .

In March of 2021, Compa Jorge confessed in a video that he met Iván Archivaldo, one of the children of Chapo Guzmán , who were introduced by their cousin and who coincidentally coincided four times; they even exchanged phone numbers, but they weren’t friends. On 14 April 2022, assassins shot the youtuber outside his house, they hit him 10 bullets, one in the chest that took his life.
“The truth is, my respects to him, I don’t know if he gets to see this video, but if he sees it, well, my respects, compa, we are at the order (…) He told me: ‘Hey compa, what a dog you hear your sound! I like the sound of it! What sound equipment did you put on it? Because I have a BMW and I put $20,000 dollars and it doesn’t sound the same (…) My respect for his humility, the truth is my respect”, this is how Compa Jorge expressed himself about Iván Archivaldo, nicknamed el Chapito.
El Mencho killed the Pirate for ridicule on social networks
A young influencer, known as the Pirate of Culiacán , was assassinated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), after he made fun of his leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes , alias el Mencho , in a video posted on social media. The Pirate (Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales) had 17 years old, went viral for uploading videos to the internet in which he appeared drunk and drugged until he lost consciousness.
The case of Nana Wigs
Pamela Montenegro del Real, a YouTuber nicknamed Nana Wigs, was executed in a of the most important tourist areas of the port of Acapulco, in the state of Guerrero, in February 2018. She had criticized the government of the current mayor, Evodio Velázquez. At the time, the Mexican authorities and media pointed out the alleged links between Evodio and a drug cartel that operated in the entity.

Claudia Berenice Ochoa Félix became famous in 1200, after photos of him went viral in which he appeared posing with firearms, luxury cars, showing off mansions and clothes of designer. Six years later, the 000 September 2019, was found dead in a residence in Culiacán, Sinaloa. She always suspected that she had a romantic relationship with a regional drug trafficking leader.
