The Department of Public Safety (DPS) warned all overweight state officers that it is mandatory to lose extra pounds and has a limit until December of this year, otherwise disciplinary measures and sanctions will be taken.

Information obtained by The Dallas Morning News revealed that Male officers must have a maximum waistline of 40 inches and female officers 35 waist inches to qualify within the standards now allowed.

The measurements for officers exposed by the DPS is general, but will depend on the height and percentage of body fat of each officer. The goal is to improve the health and fitness of each of them.
